Brian Hughes has so far endured a less productive season than in recent years, the Northern-based jockey having picked up 204 winners – becoming only the fourth jump jockey to break the 200 mark – when landing the Jump Jockeys Championship in the 2021/22 season. That was the second of three title wins for Hughes, who began his affiliation with horses as a young rider in Kildare, and has been unrelenting in his quest for success since. “I’ll go anywhere to ride a winner,” Hughes once said, making his agent Richard Hale one of the hardest-working men in the game.
Biggest win this season: The Real Whacker in the Charlie Hall Chase at Wetherby
