Charlie Deutsch enjoyed many successes alongside his father, John, in the point-to-point sphere before linking up with Charlie Longsdon. He has since developed a good relation with Venetia Williams despite falling on his first ride for the yard, and he credits the trainer for standing by him after a spell out of racing in 2018. Since his return, things have been on the up, with notable successes including riding L’Homme Presse to win the 2022 Brown Advisory Novices’ Chase – his first Cheltenham Festival winner.
