Danny McMenamin followed in the footsteps of fellow Northern Irishmen Sir Anthony McCoy and Brian Hughes when he was crowned Britian’s Champion Conditional Jockey in 2021, and he has become one of the stalwarts of the Northern racing scene since, improving his strike-rate and number of winners in each of the past three seasons. Memorably, McMenamin celebrated as if he’d won the Derby on Pour Moi when steering Florida Dreams to success for his boss Nicky Richards in the 2023 Grade 2 bumper at Aintree.
Biggest win this season: Nells Son in the Richard Landale Memorial Handicap Chase at Kelso
