Freddie Gingell is the grandson of Cheltenham Gold Cup-winning trainer Colin Tizzard so had horse racing in his blood from the start. He hasn’t looked back since riding his first winner under Rules in February 2022, aged just 16, and it didn’t take long for success at the very top table as he landed the re-routed Clarence House Chase at Cheltenham on outsider Elixir De Nutz less than two years later. Thanks to added backing from Paul Nicholls, Gingell is currently clear at the top of the Conditional Jockeys’ Championship standings.
