Like so many jockeys, Harry Skelton – son of Olympic showjumper Nick Skelton – started his racing career on the pony circuit. Indeed, Harry and his brother Dan both learned to ride on the same pony, Oxo, that their dad had, and it’s been all gravy since switching to ride over jumps for Paul Nicholls after a spell on the Flat with Richard Hannon. Harry spent nine years at Ditcheat before becoming stable jockey for Dan, who had started training on his own, and was subsequently crowned champion jump jockey in 2020/21.
